The basics

How GLP-1 medications work.

GLP-1 is a hormone your gut already makes after you eat. It tells your brain you have had enough and slows how quickly food leaves your stomach. GLP-1 medications imitate that signal so it is easier to hear.

  • Fullness signals can get louder

The message that says you are satisfied can arrive sooner and last longer, which may make portions easier to manage.

  • Digestion slows down

Food can leave the stomach more gradually, so fullness may last longer between meals.

  • Blood sugar can steady

Insulin release can be better matched to what you ate, which may help reduce the swings linked to cravings.

Medication is one part of the plan, not the whole plan. Nutrition, protein, movement and sleep are what make progress last. Your program includes support for all of it, because the goal is a body you can maintain, not a number you visit once.

This describes how FDA-approved GLP-1 medications are understood to work. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved and have not been evaluated by the FDA for these effects. Individual responses vary, and GLP-1 medications are not suitable for everyone.

Options your provider may consider

Semaglutide and tirzepatide.

These are the two GLP-1 medication families most often used for weight management. Semaglutide acts on the GLP-1 receptor. Tirzepatide acts on GLP-1 and GIP together. They are dosed differently, tolerated differently, and priced differently.

Which one is appropriate, or whether either is, is a clinical decision made by your provider after reviewing your history, your other medications and your labs. You will see the exact program pricing for what is recommended before you commit to anything.

  • Started low and titrated based on how you respond
  • Dose changes handled by message or a short telehealth visit

What the price covers. Untold Vitality Clinic offers both FDA-approved medications and compounded alternatives. Which one is right for you is decided by your clinician during your visit, based on medical necessity, availability and your preference. Semaglutide and tirzepatide starting prices are for a compounded medication at the lowest dose, when prescribed; FDA-approved options are priced differently. Your final price depends on the medication and dose prescribed and is confirmed before you pay for medication. The membership covers provider care and program support only. Payment does not guarantee a prescription.

Where clinically appropriate, your provider may prescribe a compounded medication prepared by a state-licensed compounding pharmacy. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved and are not reviewed by the FDA for safety, effectiveness or quality.

What is included

The whole program, not just the prescription.

Provider visits

An initial visit to build the plan, then scheduled follow-ups to review how you are responding and adjust.

Labs where needed

Baseline panels ordered by your provider, drawn at a lab near you, and reviewed with you rather than emailed at you.

Dose adjustments

Titration handled as you go. If a dose is not sitting right, you do not wait weeks for an appointment to change it.

Refills, coordinated

Refills are requested and tracked in your patient portal and shipped from a licensed pharmacy in discreet packaging.

Nutrition & behavior support

Practical guidance on protein, fiber, hydration and movement, built for a real schedule rather than a meal-plan fantasy.

Care team between visits

Questions do not have to wait for the next appointment. Message the team and get a human answer.

Who it fits

This program tends to suit

  • Adults who have tried diet and exercise and stalled anyway
  • People whose weight is tangled up with sleep, stress, thyroid or hormones
  • Anyone who wants a provider watching the plan, not an algorithm
  • Patients who want the medicine and the coaching in one place

Who it does not

It is not the right fit if

  • You are pregnant, breastfeeding or planning a pregnancy soon
  • You have a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN2
  • You have had a serious reaction to a GLP-1 medication before
  • You are looking for a guaranteed outcome rather than medical care

GLP-1 medications are not suitable for everyone. Results may vary. This page is educational and is not medical advice. Measure what matters

The scale is a bad narrator.

Weight moves for a dozen reasons that have nothing to do with fat. Our in-person 3D body scan captures body fat, lean muscle and circumference measurements in minutes, so you can see whether you are losing the right thing.

If your energy, sleep or libido have not followed your weight, it is worth looking at hormones and labs as well.

FAQ

Weight loss questions.

The rest gets answered on your free consultation call.

Is a GLP-1 medication right for me?

That is exactly what the provider visit is for. A licensed provider reviews your history, your goals and, where needed, your labs, and prescribes only when it is medically appropriate. GLP-1 medications are not suitable for everyone.

Do I need labs before I start?

Often, yes. Labs give your provider a baseline and can surface thyroid, metabolic or hormone issues that affect weight. Your provider orders what is needed and you have it drawn at a lab near you.

What about side effects?

The most commonly reported effects are digestive: nausea, reflux, constipation or diarrhea, usually early on or after a dose change. Your provider reviews the full risk profile with you, and dosing is adjusted based on how you respond. Report anything unusual to your care team.

Semaglutide or tirzepatide, which one?

Both are options a provider may consider. Which one, if either, is appropriate depends on your history, other medications, tolerance and availability. That decision belongs to your provider, not to a website.

I have taken a GLP-1 before. Can I continue?

Bring your history to the consultation, including the medication, your last dose and when you stopped. Your provider decides whether to continue at a similar dose, restart lower, or take a different approach.

What happens if I want to stop?

Talk to your provider first so you can taper thoughtfully and plan what comes next for nutrition, activity and follow-up. There are no long-term contracts, and you can cancel your program at any time.
